Cricket West Indies shortlisted six candidates, including Chase, Jomel Warrican, Justin Greaves, Tevin Imlach, John Campbell, and Joshua Da Silva. The board carried out a data-driven and interview-based evaluation process, incorporating psychometric testing to assess leadership qualities and tactical awareness.
Daren Sammy Supports the Choice
Head Coach Daren Sammy praised the selection process and backed Chase’s appointment, saying,
“Roston is a calm, respected figure in the dressing room with tactical intelligence. We believe he’s the right man to lead us into a successful Test era.”
Jomel Warrican Named as Test Vice-Captain
Alongside Chase, Jomel Warrican, the seasoned left-arm spinner, has been appointed vice-captain. Warrican’s experience and consistent performances earned him the role, especially as the team gears up for a challenging WTC cycle.
