
Peter Moores Signs Two-Year Contract Extension with Melbourne Stars
The Melbourne Stars have confirmed a major development in their coaching structure, extending the contract of head coach Peter Moores for another two seasons, through to the end of BBL 2025–26.

Since joining the franchise in 2022, Peter Moores has brought a wealth of experience to the Melbourne Stars’ dressing room. With the Stars having missed the playoffs in recent years, the club’s leadership has placed faith in Moores to continue the rebuilding process.
“Peter has made a strong impression across the playing group and the broader club,” said Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch.
From England to BBL – A Proven Track Record
Moores, a former England head coach, has been praised for his player development skills and tactical depth. His presence has been vital in shaping the Stars’ young core, including standout performers like Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis.
Eyes on BBL 2025–26 Glory
With a renewed contract in hand, Moores is expected to focus on long-term goals including talent retention, performance consistency, and a return to the BBL playoffs. The Stars are hopeful that his extended leadership will bring the success the team has long desired.
