Australian golfer Lucas Herbert is gearing up for the prestigious 2025 International Series Japan, set to take place from May 8 to 11 at the Caledonian Golf Club, Chiba. The tournament is part of the LIV Golf-backed International Series, marking a historic first for LIV in Japan.

A Return to Familiar Grounds for Lucas Herbert
Herbert, a key member of the all-Australian Ripper GC team, is no stranger to success in Japan. He claimed a playoff victory at the 2023 ISPS Handa Championship and previously competed at Caledonian in 2017.
“Coming back to a place you’ve won always brings good memories. Knowing the golf course is also a big reason why I’m here,” said Herbert.
Strong Form Heading Into the Tournament
Lucas Herbert enters the International Series Japan with excellent momentum. He currently sits fifth in the LIV Golf League standings, following strong performances:
- Tied for 2nd in Mexico
- 4th place in Hong Kong
- Tied for 4th in Riyadh
“It’s important to play different conditions and take the game to different parts of the world,” Herbert added, emphasizing the global value of the series.
What to Expect at the 2025 International Series Japan
The Caledonian Golf Club is expected to challenge players with its unique layout. Herbert noted he used only four drivers the last time he played the course — a contrast to typical setups.
“To win playing this style of golf is great because it’s a little different from what we’re used to,” he said.
