LIV Golf Brings International Series to Japan for the First Time

LIV Golf is making a historic entrance into Japan with the debut of the International Series Japan, set to take place from May 8–11, 2025, at the scenic Caledonian Golf Club in Chiba. This $2 million tournament will mark LIV Golf’s first official event in the country and the third stop in the 2025 LIV Golf-backed International Series, part of the Asian Tour.

This event underscores LIV Golf’s growing footprint across Asia and reflects its commitment to expanding professional golf’s global appeal.

The International Series Japan will feature a 156-player field, comprising top performers from the Asian Tour, talented local Japanese players, and global competitors vying for entry into the LIV Golf League. With high stakes and significant ranking points on offer, this event is expected to attract widespread attention from the golfing world.

“Japan is a place I’ve always wanted to visit, so I’m excited for the opportunity and can’t wait to tee it up.”

New Sponsors Boost Series in Asia Including Moutai and DLF

The 2025 International Series is undergoing major expansion, with new stops in India, Cambodia, and the Philippines, joining Japan as debut hosts. This growth is powered by new sponsorships, including:

  • DLF (India)
  • Royal Group (Cambodia)
  • Bingo Plus (Philippines)
  • Moutai (Japan), which will also title-sponsor the Singapore Open

These partnerships reflect increasing corporate interest in golf as a premium sporting platform in Asia.

A Pathway to the LIV Golf League and Major Championships

The International Series continues to serve as a launchpad for emerging golf talent, providing direct pathways into the LIV Golf League and major global championships. For example, the top three finishers from the International Series Macau earned spots in The Open at Royal Portrush.

The Japan event is expected to play a similarly pivotal role, both competitively and commercially, as LIV Golf deepens its commitment to developing golf across Asia.
